this weekend

Yesterday was a good day. Here in Birmingham, the Southern Women's show was taking place. It is an annual event that takes place for one weekend with many vendors from around the city and celebrity guests and fashion shows. My mom and I attended yesterday because we heard Giuliana Rancic would be there. If you do not know who she is, she is the co-host of E! News with Ryan Seacrest, the red carpet queen of interviews, and has her own show with her husband Bill Rancic, Giuliana and Bill.
She gave a really great speech at this event. She talked about how she came to America from Italy when she was young and learned English all on her own and worked in a mail room and many other jobs before becoming the star she is today. Most celebrities seem very fake and cocky, but Giuliana was so down to earth and genuine. It was very refreshing to see that from her.
After her speech, she stayed around for about 3 hours signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. She did not let one fan go unnoticed. I got to get my book by her signed and a picture with her. She was real sweet in the short time we talked. She asked me first if I was married, because her book is about marriage. I told her no and she asked what I did. I told her I am 22 years old and that I attend college majoring in Computer Science. She told me good luck in all I do and she also let me know she spotted me int he audience of her speech and that I stood out to her.
Tonight I watched her show,  Giuliana and Bill for the first time. It was very good and very moving. They have always had fertility problems and she was undergoing IVF treatments in thie episode to try and get pregnant. It was revealed in the news last week or so, that she expeirience a misscarriage recently. In the show tonight, being filmed a while ago, it was sad to watch knowing that even though the IVF worked and she did get pregnant, that soon she would lose the baby they worked so hard for. I really hope that she does get pregnant again and it is a success. She and Bill deserve that.
