40,000 men and women everyday

In light of recent gay suicides, it makes me wonder how come they are getting so publicized by the media and celebs. I mean, everyday many people commit suicide, gay, straight, bi, you name it. But you rarely hear about the straight people in the news. I understand the reasoning behind it and I am not happy that gays have been pushed to suicide but I don't think it is right to give them SO much attention when straight people die every day too. Where was the media when my high school friends committed suicide. are the gays better than them and deserve more attention? No way. It just doesn't seem fair to me. Perez Hilton and many celebs are creating campaigns and movements against gay suicide. Correct me if I am wrong, but where are these celebs when many soldiers at Ft. Hood committed suicide recently?? They were American heroes and they did not hardly even make the news. Pretty sickening if you ask me.
Overall, anyone committing suicide is a tragedy and it is wrong. It breaks my heart that anyone could take their own life. It always gets better, for everyone, no matter your beliefs, sexual orientation, or race.
